The Contemplative Vision Ministry of the Benedictine Spirituality Center in the Pines offers courses and workshops in contemplative practices to foster your individual spiritual journey and to promote contemplative living. Most classes are held at Benet Hill Monastery in the Black Forest.
Contemplative practices facilitate and strengthen our relationship with God. They are an opportunity to invite the divine indwelling into everything we do. Contemplative practices give us the eyes to see and the ears to hear and the courage to live the contemplative life God desires for us.
Contemplative Vision Ministry also serves as a partner with Contemplative Outreach, LTD., a spiritual network of individuals and small faith communities committed to living the contemplative dimension of the gospel in everyday life and to fostering transformation in Christ through the practice of centering prayer. These sessions offer centering prayer in a group. The morning deepens your contemplative practice and broadens your spiritual education with presentations and discussions. All are welcome!
Centering prayer is also offered in Colorado Springs at Benedicta’s Mission House on Wednesdays from 9 to 10 am. All are welcome!

Lectio Divina or “divine reading” is an ancient monastic practice of praying with sacred scripture that dates back before the 6th century. This retreat is an introduction to the practice of Lectio Divina along with some history of the practice.

Befriending the Mystics is designed to give participants a chance to peek in on the mystical experience of a variety of people throughout history. Each session will include prayer, a presentation on a particular mystic and sharing the mystic’s writings.

The day will include an introduction and overview of the Gospel of St. Luke. The approach will not be lecture, but lectio divina, involving participants in prayerful reflection and dialogue on passages that speak to these theme.
