". . . Remove the shoes from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground," (Exodus 3:5)
A Retreat is a gift of time persons give themselves, to renew and deepen their covenant with their God. It is time set apart; different from the "ordinary stuff" of daily life, yet a time and experience that can pervade and imbue every day thereafter with new vision and understanding. Retreat is a time to "take off your shoes," to be less encumbered by schedule and projects, to be open and vulnerable ready to be changed and deepened, and time to approach ones life as "holy ground." Retreatants are single, married, priests and sisters, young and old; men and
women from various faith traditions, who come from across town or across the
continent; all intent upon seeking God and letting God seek them. Retreats are
available for individuals as well as groups and recommended fees and
accommodations vary according to the needs of the retreatants. (A list of
various scheduled retreats offered by the sisters may be found on our
Special Offerings page.)
At Benet Hill Center on the monastery grounds, and at Benet Pines Retreat Center in Black Forest, various classes, workshops and programs are available in Scripture, Spiritual Direction, Contemplative Vision, Creativity, Art and Spirituality. The Sisters offer community prayer and Eucharistic Liturgy. Retreats and sabbaticals may be taken either at Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs, or at Benet Pines Retreat Center 20 miles north in the Black Forest.
