THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY SERIES
- 2007/2008
In the Spiritual Journey series
there are five courses of 6-week classes. Participants may sign up at the
beginning of each course. Students who did not complete the series in
previous years are welcome to sign up for courses as they are able. The
required texts can
be purchased at Benet Hill Center office. They are: Open Mind,
Open Heart, Invitation to Love and Intimacy with God, all
by Thomas Keating, OSB, and scripts which accompany the videos by Thomas
Keating. |

Spiritual Journey - Course 1: |
Follow Up Session to
the Introductory Workshop above
This six-week follow-up session will provide
basic instruction in the practice of Centering Prayer, a deeper understanding of
the historical roots of this prayer in the Christian tradition and support in
making this prayer a daily practice. Prerequisite: Introductory Workshop Fee:

Models of the Human
Condition
This six-week session focuses on the
inner journey of conversion and transformation and examines the process
of healing the human condition through the “Divine Therapy” of Centering
Prayer. Prerequisite: Course 1 Fee:

Paradigms of the
Spiritual Journey
This six-week session develops the
daily spirituality of transformation that flows from the consistent
practice of Centering Prayer. Prerequisite: Course 1 & 2.

contemplation for a weekend of Centering Prayer

The weekend
retreat
at Benet Pines
Retreat Center is designed to intensify one’s practice
of contemplative prayer. It includes: centering prayer periods
with contemplative walks,
Lectio, and time for solitude.
This retreat is open to people of all faiths who have incorporated the practice of Centering Prayer into their daily
lives for at least six months. A
deposit of $50.00 is required. The deposit is applied
to the cost. Fee: $100.00

Two Centering Prayer sessions and a meditative walk in
between. Anyone is welcome.

Monthly Prayer Days |
A quiet morning is scheduled for the first Saturday of every
month to deepen one’s Centering Prayer practice and on-going education. The time
is made of two periods of Centering Prayer with a walk, quiet time, a
twenty-minute video with
Lectio, and two more periods of Centering Prayer.

Monastery.
