Welcome to...
BENET HILL MONASTERY

The 38-member community of Benet Hill Monastery in the Diocese of Colorado Springs was founded on June 14, 1965 in the shadow of Pikes Peak and in the purple mist of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The heart of our ministry is seeking God in the monastic community, praise of God in liturgy, growing in God through contemplation and study, and serving God by using our gifts and talents in a variety of ministries.

Benet Hill is a community that supports and challenges all who come and share our lives. We are Benedictine women who give special attention to our liturgical celebrations. We believe in the special giftedness of women and promote their full participation in church and society. We are a member monastery of The Federation of St. Scholastica and  members of Benedictines for Peace, an organization of Benedictine women and men in the United States. Join us in praying for peace.

We administer and staff Benet Hill Center and Benet Pines Retreat Center. We offer a large retreat ministry at the Pines and the Monastery, along with educational programs in spirituality, contemplative prayer, mysticism, scripture and the arts. We offer Spiritual Direction which is available by appointment at the Center and the Pines. Our other areas of ministry include pastoral care in parishes and hospitals, ministry to the elderly, education in schools and parishes, and direct ministry to the economically poor in Jamaica.
