Benet Hill Monastery and Ministry Center

Sister Clare Carr, O.S.B., Prioress

Benet Hill Monastery and Ministry Center

The 38-member community of Benet Hill Monastery in the Diocese of Colorado Springs was founded on June 14, 1965 in the shadow of Pikes Peak and in the purple mist of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The heart of our ministry is seeking God in the monastic community, praise of God in liturgy, growing in God through contemplation and study, and serving God by using our gifts and talents in a variety of ministries.

Benet Hill is a community that supports and challenges all who come and share our lives. We are Benedictine women who give special attention to our liturgical celebrations. We believe in the special giftedness of women and promote their full participation in church and society. We are a member monastery of The Federation of St. Scholastica and members of Benedictines for Peace, an organization of Benedictine women and men in the United States.

Since 1982, we administered and staffed Benet Hill Center, formerly Benet Hill Academy, offering retreat ministry, Spiritual Direction and educational programs in spirituality, contemplative prayer, scripture, religious education, liurgy, and the arts.

Our other areas of ministry include pastoral care in parishes and hospitals, ministry to the elderly, and education in schools and parishes and social ministry.

Join us in praying for peace.
